I'm not here to stand up for Sandusky or anybody else, but what has happened the last few days has really got me thinking.

We as individuals like to think that we are innocent until proven guilty if we have allegations thrown at us. We as a society today don't quite wait for the judicial system to do their due diligence and we like to play the part of the jury with only part of the facts. From all the information that has come forward from the Penn State case, Sandusky seems to be an animal and a pedophile, but do we really know all the facts. Has it never occurred in the history of mankind for a group of people to throw false allegations at someone? Has it never occurred in the history of mankind for a group of unfavorable events to all happen that would make someone look like something they weren't?

The political correct crowd that has enveloped our country today has forced people to lose their job, livelihood, etc. way before allegations have turned into convictions. Do we today as a society have the power to skip the individual freedoms of the accused? Would it be too much to hold our tongue's as a whole (media especially) until all the facts have come forward and a decision has been made in the court room? Wait for the court room's decision before the powers that be make life changing decisions for others.

The media today has formed a following that thinks it is o.k. to bypass an individual's right to freedom. We today gang up on people and look down on them before all the facts are fully disclosed. It is all o.k. as long as it is not us or one of our loved ones. People lie, steal, and cheat, and that goes for the defendant and plaintiff. Can we get back to innocent until proven guilty or do we have to continue to allow the media to mechanically arouse the masses into making the decisions prematurely.

**I personally believe that Sandusky is guilty and do not write this trying to give him any type of credit. I simply am irked at hearing the media refer to him as if he has already been found guilty of all charges.

Duke Lacrosse = Sandusky Investigation???

I can't see how you can compare this to the Duke Lacrosse case. In the Duke Lacrosse case there was one victim and 2 days of investigations before the media storm was created The Sandusky investigation has multiple victims over an already completed 3 year police investigation with Grand Jury indictments. Totally different circumstances. In the Duke Lacrosse case their was one witness, the alleged victim. In this case there are multiple witnesses & victims.

I believe in due process. Everybody deserves their day in court. Even those caught in the act of their crimes. However I do believe that somebody can be guilty before being proven guilty. Innocent people do not get accused of committing 20+ sex acts on young boys. It isn't up to the media, the public, the family of the victims or the victims themselves to wait for a trial before passing judgement. Only the judge and jury are supposed to reserve judgement until after ALL of the facts come out in court.

You can't compare the two cases of what is going on with Sandusky with the McMartin preschool incident. A bunch of 10 year old boys are far more reliable to give honest testimony or field questions from investigators then a bunch of 3 or 4 olds who don't even know how to remember yet. The charges were brought up in the McMartin preschool case because some idiot child crisis counselor on retainer from the DA's office held out a teddy bear and pointed to the genital areas and asked the kids if they were touched "there" all while the counselor were nodding there heads upside down.

Good post. It seems like everyone is spouting venom to point out that there against
child molestation more than the next guy & the more people that go down for this the better. Why stop with Paterno get after the biology teacher he should have known also. I heard a sports show host today saying they should abolish football at Penn State. One person Sandusky is the culprit a few MAYBE should be punished but lets stop the witch hunt.

The Duke lacrosse accuser wasn't 3 or 4 years old and these boys are no longer 10 years old.

The Duke Lacrosse accuser was just one single accuser. One victim isn't a pattern. Sandusky has a shit load of victims coming out of the woodwork saying they were molested and a witness seeing Sandusky cornholing some kid in the showers. Presidents, AD's and worshiped coaches don't get fired for trying to cover up the actions of a soon to be found innocent person.

Yeah, they all conspired over 13 years and Mcqueary testified for fun because he thought it would be great to permanently ruin his own reputation while he brought down the legendary coach.

Did they each go to authorities for 13 years?

McQueary may have testified because he thought it was the right thing to do disregarding his own reputation. Or maybe he was coming under the gun.

Wrong. It has occurred many times in history where a group of people have conspired against a single innocent individual. The case of Jesus Christ in the Bible, for example. In this case probably the most obvious motive would be potential millions of dollars via civil lawsuits. BTW it is interesting that the supposed victims waited so many years.

It isn't up to the media, the public, the family of the victims or the victims themselves to wait for a trial before passing judgement. Only the judge and jury are supposed to reserve judgement until after ALL of the facts come out in court.

Good luck with getting a non prejudiced jury in this case.
